I'm Back!

Well I took a non-intentional break from the blogging world...ooppss!  I guess moving, helping my mom move, and nursing my husband back to help after surgery was more crazy than I thought it would be!

We moved to downtown Phoenix a few weeks ago, but the weekend before our move I got to help my mom pack up and move from the house where I grew up.  What a flood of memories!  My family built the house over 30 years ago and it was time to move on :)

Where I grew up in Bountiful, Utah

My last run on the boulevard

Got to see my Grandparents

And made my mom throw out SO much stuff!
This is how I convinced her to get rid of all my medals...just take a picture of me wearing them!  Then get rid of them!  Ha ha!

 Then our moving day:
I got home Sunday and we moved that next Thursday.

All of Ted's clothes fit in one wardrobe box...

And so did mine!
Such a proud moment :)

The day after moving day I was destroyed!  The day we moved I sent Ted to work, got the movers there, got the keys to our new place and moved in and then picked Ted up from work....it was a long day but worth it!

It was torture feeling so sick and having to lay in bed and look at the unorganized mess....but Lola took good care of me!
When I feel sick I have no energy...I always drop things...I was being so careful with my phone because I know how clumsy I am when I am sick...well I dropped the oatmeal container on my phone and shattered it....lets just say I might have had a good cry...then I found an amazing place that fixed it in 15 minutes!

A week after we moved Ted got surgery on his sinuses...they overhauled them, he had a bone growth on one side that was completely blocking it, and on the other side he had an extra drainage hole they had to fix...and on top of that he had a deviated septum they fixed.  The Dr. came out and told me how fun the surgery was since he doesn't get to work on those problems very often....
He is going to kill me for posting this...but he was so so sick!  He had a reaction to the anesthesia and the pain meds and threw up for 4 days straight!  It was so hard watching him be so sick!

Lola sat guard the entire week...

It was a good experience for both of us.  I got to feel how helpless you feel as the caregiver and Ted understands a little more of how it feels to be sick all the time.

Since moving we have gotten mostly all new furniture.  We have never had stuff that was new and that we picked out to go together...so it has been fun choosing all the different furniture!  We still have a few items left to get and find but we have a new couch, coffee table, side table, entertainment center/book shelf....and it is starting to come along!  I will post pictures when it gets more complete!

Our new couch!

Thank you to everyone who has helped and supported us over the last crazy month!  We are loving our new location, loving the area, loving Ted's 12 minute commute to work, and Ted is loving that he can breath for once in his life!!

Happy Halloween Week!!!

  2. You've been busy! I hope Ted feels much better now. My parents built their house when I was a baby. I can't imagine them ever moving! You would die at all the stuff in that house!
Will you send me your new address? Thanks!
